2007 HUNTING SEASON IN REVIEW
This season is dedicated to Jim Bruno III. One of the toughest men I know. We sure missed him this season and look forward to having him back next fall.
This seemed to be the season of missed opportunities. With the weather not cooperating, chances at the bulls and bucks weren’t as numerous and we had several cases where things just didn’t come together. This is why I stress how important it is to be prepared both physically and mentally to hunt out here. I still feel we had a great season, because anytime you can hunt, it is great!

Just the Facts
Archery Elk: 15 hunters took 3 bulls. A lot of bulls seen with good shot opportunity for most of the hunters.
Rifle Elk: 34 hunters took 20 bulls. A good number of big bulls were seen, but not taken.
Mule Deer: 13 hunters took 9 bucks. A lot of small bucks moved early and the big ones didn’t show up in time.

John Schreiner Jr. had a situation occur this year that at first seemed too good to be true, but as time went on, we began to call it the “curse”. It started off with him drawing his elk tag and before it was done, he had also drawn a goat, moose, deer, antelope, and a bison tag! His dad figured the odds out at 1 in 60 million of drawing all 6 tags. We knew we had our work cut out for us, but hard work and good shooting paid off. Luckily John’s a great hunter and took care of the deer and antelope on his own. We were glad to help out with the rest.
