We provide food, tents, and all accommodations during your trip. All
you need to bring is your personal gear. If you intend to fish, you
will need to bring your tackle and purchase a license upon arrival
in Cody. Please limit gear to thirty pounds per person plus your sleeping
bag. One soft army type duffel bag is best.
Guests should arrive in Cody at least one day before their trip is scheduled
to begin. Guests are responsible for hotel accommodations and meals prior
to and after your trip. We can help with hotel arrangements if you desire.
You will be picked up at your hotel after breakfast the first day of
your trip and returned there at the end of your trip.
We are not a "high-volume" packtrip outfitter. All of our packtrips are custom tailored to fit our clients desires. We will work closely with you to find out the best dates and length of trip to best fit your needs. Most trips are 6 - 7 days long, but longer/shorter trips can be arranged.

A beautiful timber fringed meadow with a stream flowing through it
is the most common campsite. Camp consists of private sleeping tents
with
thick foam pads for all guests.
There is also
a cook tent where you can watch your cook create culinary delights
over an open fire. On
these trips you can set camp in one location for the duration of
the trip or move every couple of days and explore new country along
the
way. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience
in the field of horse packing and mountain camping if you desire.
Fishing is available on most of our trips, but these trips go to the mountains
with fishing as the main objective. A professional fishing guide will join
the crew to show you all the tricks to land the big ones. Rainbow, cutthroat,
and brook trout are the main fish you will be catching. These trips can be
conducted from the base camps or from a high country camp.
An occasional bear is seen on some of our trips, but these trips take
you to the high basins in late August to watch these monarchs of the
mountains as they gather to feed on the moth fields. Spotting scopes
and binoculars are used to view the bears from a distance so as not to
disturb them. As many as fifteen bears have been seen in one day. This
is a very exciting and informative high country adventure.

We like to call these "the wilderness appetizer". These rides will give you a little taste of what to expect on our packtrips. We intentionally keep our groups small so that every rider can enjoy all aspects of the ride and not feel like just a number on a hot dusty trail. Although we have rides for all ranges of riding experience, from beginner to expert, we specialize in rides off the beaten path for the more experienced rider.
